SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETING
The interpreters are in charge of translating everything at the same time it is being said.
- How many interpreters?
Simultaneous interpreting requires a high degree of concentration and mental agility, which places a significant cognitive load on the interpreters. This is why for events lasting more than 1 hour two interpreters will be needed.
- What equipment do I need?
Interpreting Booth: Offers a better quality and causes less trouble. Most recommended.
Sound equipment: It is more difficult to use and it can cause some trouble, but is a cheaper option.

Big events on which many people speak different languages and speakers have a limited time to give their speech..

For one or more people that have something to say to a larger group. As in bilateral interpreting, the interpreter will need everyone to respect each other's time to talk in order to translate everything in a correct and structured way.
- How many interpreters?
Usually just one interpreter is needed, but it always depends on the characteristics of the specific event.
- What equipment do I need?
Paper and a pen when possible. An excellent interpreter's memory when not.
- For what kind of events?

WHISPERED INTERPRETING

Good voice control of the interpreter so that only the person who speaks a different language can hear the translation. This way the rest of the people will not be bothered.
- For what kind of events?
Small events on which just one person speaks a different language to the rest of the people.
WHISPERED INTERPRETING
The translation is usually just in one direction. The interpreter is right next to the person who speaks a different language and transalates everything into their ear.
- How many interpreters?
Usually just one interpreter is needed, but it always depends on the characteristics of the specific event.
- What equipment do I need?
Good voice control of the interpreter so that only the person who speaks a different language can hear the translation. This way the rest of the people will not be bothered.
- For what kind of events?

ONLINE INTERPRETING
Online interpreting can be simultaneous or consecutive interpreting. The interpreters are connected to an online video call platform, as well as all the people participating in the event to be translated.
- How many interpreters?
The number of interpreters depends on the interpretation being consecutive or simultaneous. Both modalities are explained above.
- What equipment do I need?
A computer with a video call platform to which everyone can get connected. The people who are to be translated need to have good quality microphones so that the interpreters can properly listen to them and translate what they say.
For online simultaneous interpreting a virtual booth will be needed in order to allow interpreters to choose the channel they are going to talk through. This way every participant in the event will be able to listen to the translation with their own computers just by choosing the translation channel.

Events that are too short to be done in person, such as announcements to employees, short training sessions, last hour explanations …

"My whole life I've had a dream, the dream of being an actress. Spoiler alert, it never became true. However, it gave me a lot of knowledge that I use now in my work as an interpreter. Because the meaning of both jobs is basically the same: theatre translates lives and interpreting translates languages.
